Keiki Hula I (ages 3-12)
Saturdays 9:30 am - 10:30 am
In this beginner class, students will learn the Hawaiian alphabet and proper pronunciation of the Hawaiian language. They will begin to learn simple oli (chant) technique and one basic oli. Students also learn basic hula technique including proper posture, steps, and hand movement. They will learn one kahiko (ancient) or ‘auana (modern) hula during the session. Hawaiian values are also practiced in this class.
Intermediate Hula I (ages 12 - Adult)

This is a beginner/intermediate class for students ages 12 years and older. Through the hula, dancers will be immersed in the culture of Hawaiʻi, the language, and history of our One True Creator God, ‘Io. They will learn basic Hawaiian songs and hula technique that includes proper posture, steps, and hand movement. Students will also learn oli (chant) including technique and styles used in traditional protocol. In some sessions, hula implements may be used. Hawaiian values are also practiced in this class

Tahitian I (ages 4+)
These classes introduce basic Tahitian dance steps and hand movements. Students focus on learning hip isolation and learn to dance to different Tahitian drum beats. The class then builds to learning a choreographed Oteʻa and/or Aparima.

While learning the basics of Swing and Salsa, each dancer will have the opportunity to grow as an excellent lead and follower. Both roles require perspective, confidence, and faith. Come have fun with friends and family. Get a good work out and refine your relationships.
In this class we will teach basic swing and salsa steps. Our goal for these performers is to retain choreography and the ability to perform with confidence both individually and with a partner. Come finesse your skills to cooperate and communicate on and off stage.
